Advice on engagement
TEC has been convening parties from different sectors to discuss and reach collaborative decisions on shared environmental issues for over 30 years. This process of working with the different ‘stakeholders’, or those that have an interest in an issue’s outcomes, was pioneered by us through the BNFL dialogue and has consistently demonstrated that it is an effective way to develop long-term sustainable solutions. Whilst ‘engagement’ has very much become a buzz-word, we are delighted that this holistic and sustainable approach to decision-making is catching on, and are dedicated to seeing it progress and develop in line with society’s changing needs.
We work with a diversity of organisations to help them understand the value of engagement, and the best way to go about it to achieve mutually satisfactory outcomes. We bring to bear our years of experience and expertise to advise on the theory and practice of genuine and robust engagement. We share our skills and knowledge to build capacity in our partners and to gain these skills themselves. Furthermore, we appreciate that in a fast-paced world, new approaches and techniques are required, and we are committed to the ongoing research and development of these as a means of better decision-making.
