Conflict Analysis Tools
About This Course
This two-day course has been designed to enable you to clearly understand the dynamics of conflict, adapt the tools shared to real life situations, and identify future applications of the tools. The tools are drawn from a range of international applications and other conflict prevention/resolution fields.
Level
This course assumes an interest in and some knowledge or experience of conflict in either groups or organisations. However, you don't need to have mediation or conflict resolution skills.
Aim
To introduce you to a range of conflict analysis tools, which will help you to plan productive interventions and identify opportunities for conflict prevention and resolution.
Objectives
By the end of the course you will be able to:

Analyse issues you are working on and identify productive interventions |
| > | Use a number of new tools including PIN, ABC, conflict squares, stages of conflict, conflict mapping |
| > | Reflect on how issues of power, access and diversity impact on a conflict |
| > | Produce an action plan to take these tools back to your workplace |

Course Style
Learning through doing is essential if you are to have the confidence to use the tools and techniques that we teach. The tools will be introduced and clarified, and then you will work in small groups applying the tool to a scenario of your choice.
