Corporate Engagement

Robust and quality engagement with the corporate sector continues to be an important part of The Environment Council’s focus. We have helped companies solve disputes, understand and embed sustainability, engage with and understand their stakeholders- including NGOs, communities, regulators and government- and build their professional capacity in all these areas.

As an independent charity, The Environment Council is ideally placed to act as a conduit for engagement between sectors who at present often only engage in relatively ad hoc ways, such as the corporate sector and NGOs. Using our engagement and facilitation expertise we are able to bring these traditionally opposed sectors together in a neutral space where all perspectives, concerns and uncertainties can be discussed openly.

Working in partnership is a core component of a successful engagement project, and we continually seek to create value for those involved. Our project work with the corporate sector has enabled organisations to develop agreed solutions to problems, create quality input to strategies, analyse gaps and challenges in their working, and improve relationships with stakeholders.

As well as working with individual companies on projects, The Environment Council also operates a Corporate Partners programme. The scheme helps corporate organisations develop their approach to stakeholder engagement and in return helps, supports and resources TEC in furtherance of its charitable objectives.
