Briefing Paper on Carbon Accounting for Events
The Environment Council has developed a short briefing paper to assist with the calculation of the carbon footprint of a corporate event- such as a large scale catered meeting or conference.
The paper takes a methodological approach to carbon accounting and presents simple calculations for the various aspects of running an event.
Carbon Trust launches world's first carbon reduction award scheme
New Carbon Trust Standard created to build consumer trust and reward businesses that make genuine emission reductions.
A new campaign has been launched today challenging businesses and the public sector to end so-called 'greenwash' by achieving the new "Carbon Trust Standard" certificate - the only way for organisations to prove they are tackling climate change and have made genuine reductions in their carbon emissions.

Seminar on engagement and climate change
Over the last two years The Environment Council has been convening a Forum of more than ten environmental agencies: the Environmental Agencies Better Engagement Group (EABEG), where members share their experience of engaging stakeholders on various issues. As we believe in multi-sectoral approaches, we are opening up the Forum to NGO’s at the next seminar on June 25th.
LEAD Europe Leadership for Sustainable Development Programme 2008
The LEAD Europe Leadership for Sustainable Development Programme 2008 begins in June and includes 17 face-to-face training days organised into three residential modules over six months, supported by online events, preparation and project work.
The programme aims to inspire with the latest thinking, sharpen your skills and put you in contact with a group of high-level peers from across Europe and internationally.
