Strategic Environmental Assessment for Severn Tidal Power

As part of a consortium with Parsons Brinckerhoff and Black & Veatch, we are responsible for coordinating the stakeholder and public engagement to inform the Government’s Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) on tidal power in the Severn Estuary.

This requires a long-term approach in which we are responsible for bringing together technical streams of information, making information accessible for stakeholders and the public to be able to usefully input to the SEA; designing and delivering the events to facilitate this; and working across a multi-disciplinary consortium, towards a holistic approach to the SEA.

As a necessary quality assurance mechanism of such a nationally important project, The Environment Council is also conducting independent evaluation of the engagement throughout the SEA.
