The Environment Council's mission is to develop and promote good ways of engaging people in discussions and decisions to make sustainable development happen. Our vision is a world where people are actively engaged in decisions to make sustainable development the way we all live.
Our objectives:
1. Engage local communities:
- Effective decision-making to support the development of sustainable communities
2. Support sustainable business:
- Work with corporate partners to help them engage with their stakeholders
- Explore sustainable ways of doing business that reduce environmental impacts and are fair
- Evaluate how effective engagement helps develop more sustainable products and services
3. Be a thought and practice leader on engagement for sustainable development
4. Be an exemplar charity:
- Report openly about our work and impact
- Support and develop staff, trustees and volunteers
- Increase our capacity and reserves to support our staff and meet our goals
