The processes of stakeholder engagement and public participation cannot take place in isolation – people need something to talk about! The Environment Council therefore works closely with a wide range of organisations who want to address particular issues, some specific to that organisation, some of wider significance. For us working in partnership is a core component of a successful engagement project. Through partnership we are looking to create value for those involved. This value comes from effective problem solving and decision making, from creating understanding between different groups of stakeholders, and from developing capacity in others to operate in different ways.
