WWF One Planet Business
The Environment Council (TEC) is currently working in partnership with the Sustainable Business Unit of WWF on the ‘One Planet Business' (OPB) Personal Mobility project.
OPB seeks to offer businesses, policy makers, investors, consumer groups, NGOs a forum to jointly understand issues of unsustainable consumption and production and explore transformative ways for business to create value and meet human demand in an increasingly resource-constrained world. The fist OPB initiative aims to tackle sustainable mobility. The purpose of this project is to inspire and catalyse action towards transformational change for personal mobility within one planet limits.
One Planet Business Personal Mobility started in March 2007 with 35 participating organisations and consists of six meetings over one year. The process has been designed and ran by The Environment Council to enable the collective creativity from within the group to develop systemic thinking around the future of personal mobility: from collectively understanding the system to generating shared actions for change.
Participants developed the following project ideas (prototypes):
|
> |
Alliance for One Planet Mobility: The participants of OPB represent a progressive cross-sectoral group of companies, policy makers, researchers and civil society representatives with an important stake in the issue of personal mobility. The Alliance will provide a platform for these organisations to collectively advocate and work towards the radical changes needed to the market frameworks that will enable personal mobility within one planet limits. |
